Facebook APIs for public Page and post data

Read public Facebook Pages, profile follower counts, posts, videos and reels without a Facebook login. Responses keep Facebook’s own terms, such as reactions instead of likes and plays beside views. A read that fails on our side is free; content confirmed unavailable is charged as not found.

Choose the API by the job.

From first request to production.

  1. Pick the job

Choose the Facebook endpoint by outcome: profile, post stats or page posts.

  2. Send one clear input

Use a public URL, keyword, cursor or small parameter set. Each API page shows valid examples before you write code.

  3. Check each response

Each response includes a fetch timestamp, its availability and the credits it billed, so you can match usage to your own records.

Where Facebook APIs fit.

Page benchmarking

Track the exact follower count of your own and competitors’ public Pages on a schedule, with each Page’s category and verified badge.

Post and reel reporting

Refresh reactions, comments and shares on campaign posts, and views and plays on videos and reels, across the life of a campaign.

Creator qualification

Check the public follower count of a creator’s Page or profile before a partnership moves into manual review.

Delivery checks

Confirm that a sponsored post is still public and see what it drew, from the URL the creator sent.

Facebook limits.

Unavailable is one answer: not found

Facebook shows the same “This content isn’t available” page for content that is missing, deleted, private or blocked in a region. Once a second check confirms it, that is reported as not found and charged like any lookup; the response cannot say which of those it was, so it is never reported as private. A read we could not confirm is a free 503. Group, story and event URLs are not supported, and are refused free before any fetch.

Personal profiles are counts only

A Page returns its name, category, avatar and verified badge. A personal profile returns its follower count and id, and a person’s post returns its counts without the text or the author’s name.

Rounded reactions stay rounded

Where Facebook shows only a rounded reaction figure such as 14K, that is the number returned; where nothing says more, reactions is null rather than a guess. Shares are null on a video’s page, where Facebook does not show them.
