How this is measured

Every component is checked every five minutes. Each API is judged on the first evidence below that applies.

   Customer requests

   At least 4 in the last 30 minutes, cache hits excluded.

   • Operational under 25% failed
   • Degraded 25% or more failed

   Example request

   Too little traffic: the API's documented example is sent through the same path a customer's request takes.

   • Operational answered
   • Degraded one failed check
   • Outage two failed in a row
3. 3
   Switched off

   Every way we serve the API has been paused after repeated errors.

   • Outage until it recovers

A post that was deleted or an account that is private is an answer, not a failure, so it never counts against an endpoint. Daily uptime is the share of a day's checks that were not an outage; days before the checks began are rebuilt from the requests customers made that day.
